Farmstay in America

The summer vacation is almost ending, hubby and I decided bring the kids for a farmstay before the summer comes to an end.

The Green Acres farm is a nice, cosy and warm farm. Stepping into the farm makes you feel so at home. Here, I must tell you that should you decide to bring children for farmstay in America, make sure that the farm is kids-friendly. Not all farmhouses welcome small kids.

The Green Acres is a great place for kids. Kai and Ann enjoyed themselves tremendously because, they love the outdoors. Here, they provide you with a really hearty homecooked breakfast. We had pancakes, baked potatoes, scrambled eggs, sausages, breakfast cakes and watermelon for breakfast.


When we arrived, a note was stuck on the reception door to tell us where our room was situated. Ours was at the attic.

As we moved along, we were made to feel at home...

Of course, we'll feel happy and relax...such a nice place.

The kids loved the hammock. This was the first time, they saw a real one.

After checking-in and finishing our farm exploration, we ventured out to discover more....

We came to this place called The country barn market. It was an interesting place filled with lots of animals, mazes and my all time favourite - farm market!

We did the corn maze. Solving the puzzles, finding the clues to get out of the maze were alot of fun.

...we made it. The family that stayed together, worked together, get out together!

...a little of everything. There was even an underground slide.


Cowboy and cowgirl...yee-ha. In case you thought that this was a pony, it was actually a miniature horse...
and the rides were FREE..yee-ha!

Did you get them right? Turkeys, baa baa black sheep, bunnies and a goat...


...and cows. We spotted a billy goat having his meal on his "Top of the M"

After all the farm activities, we were looking for dinner before heading back to the farmhouse for the night and guess what we found? A THAI restaurant!!! It was like we had found the missing needle in the haystack!

The next morning, we woke up early, anyway, that's what farmers do.

After breakfast, the farmer brought us on a hay-ride.

Guess what's this? No, it's not your peas. It's soy beans in a pod. They will only be ready in Nov.

After the hay-ride, we headed back to the farm and the kids were released into the chicken coop to collect eggs...


Kai found four eggs and Ann found two. All the eggs that were collected on that morning.

The rest of the day was very much free and easy. Kai found bicycles in the barn and asked if he could ride on one of them. The farmer said yes and his free spirit was released.

As I stood there, capturing this scene, I wished time could stand still. For me to watch my little boy and for my boy to enjoy his ride.
Enjoy my boy, soak it all in my boy. I know you are having the time of your life!

Sometimes, I wonder if affluency is good for us. Yes, it gives us wealth, it gives us comfort and it gives us modern science and technology which enchance our lives. But what about food for our spirit and soul?
