End of the summer vacation
Three months of summer vacation have sped by! Imagine, going to one theme park per month. Disneyworld in June, Hershey Park in July and Dutch Wonderland in August...phew, that's 'theme parks overload'.
Today, Kai returns to school. Dylan will not be in his class anymore but he has our new neighbour, Manny, who is attending the same school as him and they went to wait for the school bus together. Isn't God great. There will always be new people who will cross our path. This is indeed a privilege.
Before the summer vacation, I was wondering what I was going to do with the kids. Will they be bored, will I go crazy...now it's all over and Ann will return to school next week.
What have I accomplished in this summer vacation?
- to help Kai to learn to cycle.
Yes, done.
Actually, I just encouraged him and got him to 'just do it'. A lot depended on him, his willingness to want to learn, his courage to fall and get brusied, get up and try until he succeeded.
- to finish his P2 school work from Henry Park.
Yes, done.
It helped greatly that Kai is a very fast learner. He understands quickly and able to apply concepts where necessary. From now, it will just be revision.
- to publish his writings.
No, not done.
After calculating, I realised that it was not value for money to spend so much to publish a few of his writings. But I will get it done before we go back home. Apart from his writings, his drawings will also be included. He has done some really good drawings since coming here.
As for Ann, she has done lots of art and crafts, bakings, readings and just simply having fun with her brother.
