Autumn Festival
Autumn is a harvest season. Many places over at where we are staying are having lots of autumn festivals. There will be all kinds of rides and wonderful farm produce for sale, pumpkins, being the most popular ones. That's because, Halloween is just round the corner and many people like to place pumpkins outside their house for decorations together with scarecrows. Drive around the neighbourhood, you will find all kinds of decorations...there are also spooky ones. (Sorry, no pics on the spooky ones)
Since we are here, how can we miss out on all these fairs and festivals.
We decided to drive up north to visit one of them. It was something different, something we all enjoyed very much at the end of the day.
It has been wet and cold for the past few days. But today, when we arrived at the festival, it was sunny and cold.
Pumpkins everywhere
Where there is sun, there will be people
A real hay ride. Although the sun was out, we were all bundled up. It was cold
The aliens have invaded the corn field
Trying to get out of the hay maze
School bus driver, Kai...Tank driver, Ann
Hey, mum and pops...
...we are bikers!
While Ann was meeting Dora...her brother was caught by a spider...
...as if that wasn't enough, Kai fell into a mouse trap!
Welcome to the land of...CORNfusion
Finally...an obstacle course and one final ride
This was a giant onion. Strangely, just before we arrived at the fair, I was telling the kids and hubby that I wished I could eat the wild, wild west onion from Black Angus. And lo and behold...when we arrived at the fair, there was a stall selling the onion. It was basically a giant onion, cut up like a flower, coated with batter and deep fried. Oh yes, it was sinfully delicious...but did you know that eating onions provides some of the best health benefits, such as preventing heart diseases and blood clot. Do a google and you will be able to read all about it.

wow! this looks fun! I am sure your kids enjoy themselves very much! I like the Cornfusion and The MouseTrap...LOL.
shirley, I've eaten this giant onion before..and yes, it was delicious. Had it in Singapore at a restaurant at Millenia Walk. Near Pan Pacific Hotel. and they have a special knife to cut it to this shape.
Hey Jade, yes the kids had a blast! But they both caught the flu after that. Inspite of having them bundle up, it was still very cold :(
Gina, yes, it's really nice and so...are you coming up with a recipe for our tiny onions ;)
