The Carters have arrived

The Carters hail from Long Beach,New York. They came to spend the New Year with us. It was really nice of them!

Mama with little Luke and Papa with keke-Emmanuel

They arrived on the eve of New Year and we brought them to have dinner at our favourite Asian Bistro for good Chinese food and after that, we went to church.

Our church was organizing a New Year Eve's fellowship nite. We were given a choice to dress up like in the 30s to 80s.

Kai was dressed in the Grease era! Emmanuel and Ann in their traditional Chinese costumes.

We were told that cheongsums were the costumes of China in the 30s

Everyone was really a great spot. Some came in leather jackets looking like James Dean, can-can skirts all ready for rock and roll, over-sized tees with tights preparing for some flash-dancing. There were hippies and punks and all jazzed up. Just look at all the wonderful costumes!

And the person with the best costume went to.....

Barb Love and her poodle skirt and cat-eye specs

It was also a pot-luck nite. Everyone brought something to share. There were so much food and dessert.

The dish with the cherry tomatoes was a vegetable pizza and my personal favourite. It was so good and I will definitely try making it.

My contributions - chocolate marshmellow cookies, coconut macaroons and fried wantons...the wantons were wiped out!
