Road trip - Washington DC
We have been here for close to a year and we have yet to visit the capital of USA. We decided that we should pay it a visit and thus, this road trip.
Washington DC, here we come! We might just be able to catch a glimpse of the new president!
Look at that, the old leaning on the new.
On our way to the National Air and Space Museum, we spotted a squirrel and guess what, it actually strike poses for us to take its picture!
Outside the National Air and Space Museum
Inside the museum. It was a very educational trip especially for Kai and many hands-on activities for the kids.
Inside a spaceship. This white thing that looks like a laundry basket is actually a shower tub for the astronauts
Space coke and space food
Hands-on activities for the kids
Waiting to board that spaceship. See ya, later mum and pops
Do you know that Washington does not belong to any state. It is just a district. Hence, the name Washington DC (District of Columbia)
We fell in love with this beautiful place with lots of museums, monuments and parks. Even the kids love it. The place is clean and and the people very nice. In fact, this place is many times better than NYC in my opinion.
Beautiful parks which we really enjoyed walking in there. God always gives us wonderful weather for our road trips. It was a hot but cool day!
At the far end, stood the Lincoln Memorial. The pointed monument is the Washington Monument and the pool in front is the Reflecting pool
In front of the Lincoln Memorial. Inside the Memorial. This is an inspirational place - nothing is impossible!
Lincoln's speeches
The White House
In front of the Washington Memorial and the Treasury Building
The American Red Cross Society and The Memorial Continental Hall
The Jefferson Memorial and the Cavalry Charge monument
Organization of the American States and The 2nd Division Memorial
The World War II Memorial and Ulysses S. Grant monument
Archives of the United States of America and The Donald W. Reynolds Center For American Art and Portrait
The International Spy Museum and a Shakespeare Theater Company
Madame Tussauds and the Ford's Theater
Washington Chinatown. At the far end, it is the Friendship Arch of Chinatown. A close-up.
Waiting for the Chinese New Year Parade to start...finally, some Chinese New Year mood and...
...glorious Chinese food. Enjoying them to bits!
The Union Station
A warm welcome to the new President of USA
The very street which President Obama walked on during his inauguration

I love DC too...There is such a different feeling in the air when you are there. Perhaps it's the wide open spaces, perhaps it's the imposing buildings.
Yes, DC is really beautiful and so far, it is the only place in US that I am able to see cleaners cleaning up the streets
